Supervision
Professional Supervision
Michelle Downs provides Clinical Supervision to Social Workers, Counsellors and other Mental Health Professionals.
Michelle genuinely believes that a safe non-judgmental space is crucial for effective and positive supervision, a space where practitioners can honestly and openly share, explore and reflect on the challenges of clinical practice. She is kind, compassionate and generous and has a natural openness and honesty with a sense of humour that creates connections and puts people at ease.
Michelle understands firsthand the importance of good, accessible and regular supervision for practitioners working in helping professions. To help reflect on best practice, increase resilience in the industry and to recognise the importance to look after themselves to reduce the risk of burnout and compassion fatigue. Additionally, supervision provides a space for practitioners to review their practice, reflect on their professional and personal development and gaining insights from a differing perspective. Michelle encourages exploration of ethical dilemmas, organisational issues and case discussion and is receptive to supporting professionals on a personal level as and when needed.
Michelle also provides 2 hours Group Supervision to groups of 4 people. This allows for 30 minutes each to meet registration requirements. Furthermore, the benefits of groups supervision are the reduced cost for a 2 hour of supervision, creates a space for individuals to broaden learning from differing experiences and perspective and provide opportunity for professional networking. As an Accredited EMDR Therapist Michelle provides supervision from an EMDR perspective for those who are interested in training in EMDR or are new to EMDR. Also, as an Accredited MHSW, supervision time counts toward AASW registration.
Supervision is via Telehealth a regular or ad hock basis.
